So what happens when a recruiter starts using an interview scheduling tool for the first time? Do they lose consciousness due to confusion...or reach a state of nirvana and bliss from all the efficiency they create for themselves? The answer probably depends on the specific tool they are using, so....I dunno. But, I can tell you about what it's like for people to start using Interviewer Assistant and the results are pretty nifty if I do say so myself. Because Interviewer Assistant was created specifically for recruiters by recruiters, it takes into account the intricacies of recruitment interviewing that some of the general purpose online interview scheduling tools may not. Also, it’s designed for the technical capacity of the average HR person (don't throw rotten tomatoes at me....I'm talking about myself here as well) so it's pretty easy to master the first time you use it.
Rather than walk through how to use Interviewer Assistant (because you can read or watch videos about that here) let's have a look at the most common questions people have before they start using it:
Question: Can my applicants see who else is being invited in for an interview?
Answer: Of course not – what kind of recruitment tool would this be if we didn’t maintain confidentiality?! When they go into their email to pick their interview time, all they will see is what times are still available...not who has picked a time or what times have been picked.
Question: What if my candidates can't figure out how to select a time?
Answer: This is highly unlikely. When we designed this interview scheduler, we tested that process on our elderly, technologically impaired Mothers... and with no previous instruction they were all able to understand what was required and how to successfully pick an interview time. Having said that, we do provide ample instructional text for users.
Question: What if my candidate has questions about the interview or the interview scheduler?
Answer: If they have questions, they may respond to you via your email...if that is how you sent them the invite, or they could post their question for only you to see within Interviewer Assistant. Either way, they won't be left out in the dark.
Question: How long will it take me to create my first interview and customize the look and feel of my account?
Answer: This depends on you as a user to a certain degree, however from our testing; this process should never take 15 minutes. In many cases you could be doing this in around 5 minutes the first time you do it, and only a minute or two for subsequent interviews.
